The esim needs to be activated on a Tmobile USA tower so it can't be activated until you land.
I think you can activate the unlimited prepaid eSIM one day before leaving France. But it is better to know about their Visa Info, if it mentioned there you can just install it, and you're ready to go when you arrive in the U.S. Enjoy your trip!
