roku connects to hotspot but wont steream any channel
All of a sudden my Roku stick stopped working correctly. I used my mobile hotspot for years to watch stuff on Roku. Now Roku is able to connect to the hotspot but all the channels ( Netflix, Prime etc) give me a connection error when I try to stream.
the hotspot works great with my computer and tablet. I bought a different Roku and I have the same exact problem. Has t-mobile changed anything? Why the hotspot stopped working on Roku devices???
I called the support and they were useless. I got no explanation for this problem
I have an IPhone and yes it started after the update to iOS 15. I found the answer. Apple has upgraded their hotspot protocol so unless ROKu and other systems upgrade that too, they won’t be able to connect to the iPhone hotspot. Other companies have no reason to upgrade the protocol for now as only Apple has the new standard… so we are out of luck. The only solution for now would be to downgrade the iPhone to iOS 14… which I wouldn’t as the iOS 15 has more recent security upgrades I believe.
Are you an IPhone or android user? I have the same problem on my IPhone. It started with an update.
