Service provider unlock
Hey,
I have got this new Motorola Razr 50 but whenever I am trying to insert a sim card, it says "Service provider unlock pin".
I don't know which carrier has locked this device.
How to check if T mobile has locked my device. I am not a T device customer and also not in USA so can't connect with customer support.

Who sold you the phone? If it was Motorola I would contact them since they may have gave you a carrier locked phone.

I got this phone as a token of gift. This person works in mobile industry for 10 years in India. I told him the problem, but have not received any response from him.
One thing that I am sure that this is USA variant, motorala support team informed me.
Now I am unable to connect to Motorola team in USA because I am not in USA and also do not have USA number.
Can you help me to know which service provider has actually locked my device for SIM. Apart from the SIM issue, I am not facing any issue with the device.

Go to swappa.com and go to their imei checker and it will tell you who's it locked to and status like lost or stolen or if it's a phone that's blacklisted for no payment.

If it happens to be locked to T-Mobile. T-Mobile will only SIM unlock devices for customers whse devices and accounts meet all of the SIM Unlock Policy requirements.

Have you thought about trying your local cellphone repair shop to see if they can SIM unlock it for you for a fee?

T mobile may have locked for SIM lock. But I am sure on this. This is what I am trying to find, whether it's T mobile or other network provider.
Since I am not in USA nor have a USA number so unable to connect to USA Motorola team. Once I am sure which carrier provider have locked, then I can easily follow the process because I am pretty much other unlock criteria is fulfilled by me device.
I tried local Motorola support but since this is a USA variant they asked me to reach out to origin country support team which I am obviously unable to do. All they told me is that my device is a USA variant.

Do you have the original box for it? It should say where the serial number and IMEI are on the box.
