Having experienced Hurricane Katrina in 2005, I can say, with all sincerity, I feel your pain. We kept our wired (POTS) phone for ten years after Katrina because for weeks afterward it was the only thing that worked reliably. I could at least get on the Internet via dial-up and GPRS (slow but it got the job done). No calls would work between cellular carriers or BellSouth.
