Trade in value of my iPhone misrepresented

I was promised a $1000 trade in for my iPhone 12 for an iPhone Pro Max 15 if I upgraded to the G55 Plus plan. Now as it turned out I’ll have to pay 660 over the next 24 months.. The problem is that you can hardly understand some of the foreign customer service repps. However I was assured several times that I would only pay roughly $7 more per month which come out to $107 per month with the upgrade to the newer plan. Very, very upset over being misled. The free upgrade is misleading. The play the trade in/credit game and make it confusing.

Way to go T-Mobile with the trade in scam!!!!

There is so much false advertising with T-Mobil. Like the commercial with Snoop Dogg; bring in any used I phone and get the iPhone 16 on us new and existing customers. That is absolutely not the case. When you try to upgrade it gives you a lousy $150 to $300 credit. My husband was offered $800 credit for his iPhone 13 and my son received a $300 credit for his iPhone 14 Pro Max . Makes no sense. I will be calling tomorrow. It’s like the calling does not make a difference, there is no good customer service provided. Sprint never did their customers like this. I loved sprint service. With over 6 lines I will not be sticking around due to this false advertisement that T Mobil has and lack of customer service.

How was yours setup? Has T-Mobile got your trade in and inspected it yet?  Got to give more information.

Say they give you 1000 for the iPhone. It'll take the base 100 and take it our of bill, and the other $900 will be in bill credits over 24 mmonths. This has always been what happens when I take advantage of the promos. Also depending on which cycle you are on the promotion may take up to 2 billing cycles.

We had the exact same situation with trade-in.  We were told that I would pay maybe $100 more for IPhone 15 Pro with trade-in of 13 Pro and that my husband would pay nothing for an  IPhone 15 with trade in of  IPhone 13.  Much to our surprise, we were allowed a very nominal trade-in and I was told that I would owe almost $700 for the phone and that he would owe close to $500. The bill reflects this.  I feel it was bait and switch.  This trade up every two years is not how it was represented to us in the sales spiel.  Very unhappy with the deception.

If you read the terms and conditions of the trade-in promo.  It clearly states that you can receive up to whatever amount is the highest value for that mode.  Most devices never reach that amount though for a few reasons.
