Text code 128 and 2300
Hey all! We love that you are taking advantage of the app and website to keep an eye on your bill and usage details. It can be nerve wracking when something new shows up that doesn't totally match up with what’s on your device. It took me a bit of time, but I was able to clarify with some of our messaging and billing teams that the 2300 code is used for Multimedia Messaging routing (think picture and group messages) and 128 is used by our voicemail system. These codes are used on the system side of things to deliver and confirm delivery of your important data, so it shows on the bill as a stamp. The phone does not show the short code because it receives the real important stuff; your messages and voicemails.
Very Curious wrote:I too am very curious about the incoming 128 text message. I do know and have confirmed this with other text messages, that the incoming time of the text message is off by 3 hours. So if a text shows incoming at 1pm on the usage log, the actual time it was sent was 4p. The usage log is 3 hours behind. The 128 is showing on three of my lines, two are teen/kid and the other is the spouse. I have gone through the kids phone and I cannot find the correlation of the incoming 128 with their logs. Something is not setting good with me on the spouses incoming 128 message and times they are coming through. I would really like to know what the 128 is. T Mobile was zero help when I inquired about this with them.
The timestamps on your usage log are shown in Pacific Time so if you Eastern time, a 3 hour time difference is normal.
