Lost contacts & apps setting up new iPhone

When I set up my new iPhone 15 on Sunday, I lost several contacts, all of my text history, my apps, and some photos. How do I recover the missing information? I did a backup on my old phone right before I setting up the new phone so I’m not sure why so much information is missing.
