SIM NON-TRANSFERABLE
According to T-Mobile, I cannot have the same number on the SIM and eSIM even though you can't use the SIMs simultaneously; i.e., you have to go in and choose which one to make primary. And, according to T-Mobile, since the number (IMEI)/SIM was registered to another phone, it can't be registered to another phone. To me, it doesn't make sense. Why can't it be 'deregistered' from one phone (IMEI) and 're-registered' to another phone (IMEI)?
Whether you are using a physical SIM or an eSIM, a service carrier will not assign you more than a single SIM serial number per phone line. Therefore you cannot have both a physical and eSIM (which have different serial numbers) for the same phone line. As soon as you activate a new SIM, it will cancel the previous SIM on the phone line.
You can use multiple SIM cards on a single device as long as each one is activated to its own unique phone number.
