One+5G start up help
This One+5G was wiped clean earlier this year when I switched to Spectrum and bought a new phone. I want to sell the 5G on eBay but I can’t get it to Start. Ive tried several hard starts with no success. When the phone is plugged in to charging, a green Start menu comes up asking to “press volume key to select...” Also visible on the screen is “Device State-Locked”. I follow the prompt to start, the phone goes black and then the lightening icon is the only thing visable. Help!

Hey there @LarryMoe. It is super disappointing to try and turn on an old phone and getting that crazy Recovery screen. There are a bunch of OnePlus devices that are 5G. Do you have one that has a slot for a memory card? If so, take out that memory card and try to restart it again. You can also boot the phone into safe mode to see if it turns on that way.
- Press and hold both the Power and Volume up buttons together until the Power off/Restart/Screenshot menu appears.
- On the screen, press and hold Power off.
- Tap Ok to reboot into Safe mode.
- Uninstall apps that are causing a problem:
- From the Home screen, swipe up, then tap Settings.
- Tap Apps & notifications > See all apps.
- Tap on an app, then tap Uninstall.
- Tap Ok to continue.
In that Recovery Mode screen there are also options for Wipe cache partition and factory reset. I would highly encourage you to try those in that order.
Hope this helps!
