Easy-to-use, cost-effective solutions alleviate CIOs’ wireless headaches

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Aug. 25, 2011

Today, T-Mobile USA, Inc. expanded its support for business and government customers with a suite of new B2B solutions that offer features to help businesses manage their wireless telecommunications programs more efficiently and cost effectively. The new solutions include options for enterprise messaging, telecom expense management, secure mobile data access, and enterprise device security and management.

“Business customer needs are more sophisticated than ever before because more devices once considered ‘consumer’ are entering the enterprise. This can create challenges for CIOs who are responsible for balancing company requirements with employee needs,” said Femi Lakeru, vice president of business enterprise sales, T-Mobile USA. “To help ease the wireless pain points for CIOs, T-Mobile has launched new B2B solutions to help with device security, enterprise messaging and secure mobile data access – and we’re working with industry leaders to bring the solutions to market.”

These days, the range of mobile devices in the market is as diverse as a company’s employees. Everyone in the organization has different preferences for how they like to work and a company’s IT department has to ensure devices meet security policies, so T-Mobile has partnered with Good Technology to offer a solution that makes it easy for IT administrators to secure company information across a variety of mobile devices. Good for Enterprise™ from T-Mobile is designed to provide increased control and flexibility, end-to-end security, and improved collaboration and productivity.

  • Good for Enterprise offers a device-agnostic security solution that operates across several of the most popular handheld device platforms, including Android™, Windows® Mobile, and other popular operating systems taking into account IT security and control.
  • Good’s unique container-based approach is designed to prevent data from being leaked out to other non-secure applications. Private company data is only stored within the Good application and is isolated from personal data that may reside in other applications on the device.
  • The solution offers the ability to access emails, contacts, and calendar as if employees were using Outlook® on a desktop. Users can now access critical agency resources behind the firewall, such as intranets or other web-enabled applications with a secure browser.
  • The solution can be attached to corporate liable, individual liable or government liable smartphone data plan.

With telecom expenses accounting for more and more of companies’ overall IT budgets, implementing a global telecom expense management solution has become a critical business strategy to manage, allocate and optimize overall telecom budget resources. The T-Mobile Global Expense Management solution, powered by Ezwim, is a smart and secure tool to manage the assets and costs of an organization’s mobile devices and fixed lines. With this solution, companies will have centralized visibility and reporting of telecom resources, including billing data across business units and from multiple carriers and countries. The comprehensive overview of the entire telecom spend makes it easy for companies to identify overages and implement real cost savings.

  • The cloud-based, web-enabled solution, with zero installation requirements, delivers detailed spend and usage analysis across multiple levels to provide a comprehensive view of the business’ overall telecom expenses.
  • Adherence to corporate telecom spend policy can result in enterprise cost savings.
  • The solution is available for corporate liable or government liable accounts.

T-Mobile’s new enterprise messaging solution offers bulk SMS for business customers like IT, medical and field force industries whose operations require secure, reliable messaging capabilities including return receipt and delivery confirmation.

  • Building on T-Mobile’s current SMTP and TAP messaging offers, this new IP-based solution includes support for the SNPP, WCTP and SMPP protocols.
  • Customers can send alerts and communications from EIT departments to their end-user bases, such as hospital dispatches for patient appointments or IT alarms to technicians and engineers in the field.
  • The solution can be attached to corporate liable or individual liable accounts.

T-Mobile is also introducing secure mobile data access for its business customers, including private APN capabilities and static IP solutions. The specialized solution enables a business customer’s wireless device to be routed securely to the corporate network with the added ability to monitor their devices through a management portal.

  • The secure mobile data access solution will allow business customers to cost-effectively deploy custom applications and device management solutions that require additional security and control, such as those for government, field force management and inventory management.
  • The management portal allows real-time visibility, enhanced control, and flexibility for wireless connections.
  • The solution is available for corporate liable or government liable accounts.

With the new B2B suite of solutions, T-Mobile is addressing CIO headaches while continuing to provide enterprises with consistent quality of service, cost savings and America’s Largest 4G Network™.
