How can I disable the MAC address filtering or add an acceptable MAC address for my HP 8600 printer?
How can I disable the MAC address filtering or add an acceptable MAC address for my HP 8600 printer?
My suggestion would be to forget MAC filtering.
Your problem is pretty common among T-Mobile Internet users. The following usually fixes the problem.
Add a new WiFi network for the HP. Use the T-Mobile app and tap the Network tab on the bottom, then the “+” button on the lower right. Create a new 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a unique name (SSID), just for your printer. Make sure the WPA type is WPA/WPA2. This is different from your main network which, by default, is WPA2/WPA3.
Now, go to your printer and clear out all of the information you have entered for your printer’s setup and then connect your printer to your new wireless connection. See if that doesn't help.
Good luck!

Thank you bocaboy2491 !!! This has frustrated me for over a year. Now my HP Envy4500 performs as it should.

This worked on my Epson printer. I thought we were going to have to buy a new printer before I tried this! Thank you.

After hours/days of scouring the internet looking for a solution, I came across your method and it worked a charm! Thank you! I wish this was on the T-Mobile site for Troubleshooting

T Life app instructions to create new 2.4 GHz network:
Connect (at the bottom) > Things (at the top) > tap your Gateway > tap Manage > under My Networks, you will see each one you already have.
To create a new network, tap Network (at the top.) Under My Networks, tap + Add Network to open the page to set up your new network. Give it name (SSID) and a password; select the frequency band (2.4 GHz); select the WPA version (WPA/WPA2). (Encryption mode is automatically set when you select a WPA version). Tap Save at the bottom.

There is NO “Network” tab anywhere on the app. Now what?

Any thoughts on why I have been printing for two months and now my printer has disconnected because of this MAC address issue?
