Can we use our T-Mobile phones and service in Costa Rica?

We are going to be there for 8 days and will need service occasionally. Do we need to buy a new sim card? Thanks in advance.

🙂

  • It depends on your plan you have that determine the roaming rates you will pay.  Customer Care at 611 or reaching out to T-Mobile via DM on Facebook or Twitter will get you in touch with someone that could tell you what the roaming rates would be for.you specific plan and tell you what roaming packages are available to meet your needs while in Costa Rica.

    Thank you Syaoran.

I called 611 and had them add international roaming to the lines that will be in Costa Rica. We should be able to use our phones as usual. It only cost $35 per line, not too bad considering how convenient it is.

Whith a US phone, you can sign up for an inyernational plan , $50/ month.

This gives you unlimited texting and data, and out of Costa Rica, you will be charged 0.25 Cents per minute for phone calls../ however all texting is free.👍🌴

I’ve had TERRIBLE luck with T-Mobile in Costa Rica. It’s a waste of $50. Before T-Mobile took over Sprint I had great service. No problems.  Now, I can’t even get texts to go out! It’s so ridiculous. Hats the point of paying extra when the only time my phone works for calls, texts, MAPS, and/ or anything else ia if I’m at a place that shares a WiFi code with me? Seriously.  I can’t even send a text to the service number 611 aim the middle of SAN JOSE.  THE CAPITAL OF COSTA RICA?!?!
