Can I use my current SIM card in a new phone

I purchased a Google Pixel 7 Pro from Google directly and it should arrive this week. Can I use my current SIM card from my Pixel 4 and put it in the new phone? Or do I need to request a new SIM card? Can I do that before the new phone arrives so that I can switch to the new phone quickly when it arrives?

    You can but I suggest getting a new sim down the road since the old one is probably not provisioned for 5G
