Also SCAMMED at t-Mobile store
I got a new phone at a t-mobile store and was told that I would receive a $630 promo discount with my old phone trade in. While in store I asked several times if this was correct, and if the trade-in were any less than the quoted $630 that I do not want to get a new phone. My old phone was in like new condition. Sales person and manager assured me this was correct.
Then came the vodoo math that they apply to confuse you. In the end my bill should have gone up by only approx. $25 and I commenced with the upgrade.
Now comes my first new bill: it went from $120 to $168. I called customer service @ 611 to find out why. --- I only received a $300 discount. They said that only the store can make changes and honor their promise.
Lesson learned: The discount I received is the same as the manufacturer gives for the phone. I will NOT EVER buy another phone in a carrier store again.
I am currently trying to resolve the issue by visiting the store where I bought the phone.
I believe I was intentionally mislead by the store sales team.
