A T-Mobile ID is a credential used to authenticate you when you use services that require you to prove your unique identity and is linked to certain rights such as your rights to access and manage your account. It helps in keeping your account up-to-date and secure, and even getting help from other customers.
T-Mobile helps both customers and non-customers alike in various contexts that require a login. Here are a few of the great things you can do with your T-Mobile ID.
- Pay your bill, set up a payment arrangement, or make an equipment plan installment.
- Change the personal information on your account.
- Protect your account by setting up a two-step verification security option.
- Link a T-Mobile ID for multiple accounts.
- Use your T-Mobile ID to participate in the T-Mobile Support community.
Whether you register for a T-Mobile ID through a T-Mobile app or website, T-Mobile ID collects certain personal information from you. This includes a username (if you choose to edit the username created by the registration process), and a password you create. To use your T-Mobile ID to manage a T-Mobile wireless service account, we’ll also need your account PIN/Passcode. And, we collect records of your logins and login attempts.
In some cases, the data we collect depends on how you configure T-Mobile ID. You can use the same T-Mobile ID to access multiple accounts and lines so that others can log in and manage your accounts if you choose. And you can link a new number to an existing T-Mobile ID.
If your phone has a compatible biometric scanner (such as Touch ID or Face ID), you can use it on the T-Mobile app so you can sign in securely without having to remember your T-Mobile ID password. T-Mobile does not collect your biometric (fingerprint or facial image) if you use this capability of your phone with the T-Mobile app.
