Once Again, T-Mobile Performs Well Above Industry Standards

Bellevue, Wash. — Apr. 19, 2006

T-Mobile USA, Inc. is the only wireless carrier that ranks significantly above the industry average in all criteria measuring wireless customer satisfaction, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Wireless Regional Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) StudySM. For the third-consecutive reporting period, T-Mobile USA also is the only wireless carrier to rank highest in overall customer satisfaction among wireless telephone users in all six regions (including five ties) surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates.

These consistent results indicate that T-Mobile continues to set the standard for customer satisfaction in the wireless industry. T-Mobile ranks highest overall with a CSI rating significantly above the industry average and higher than all other carriers. The highest rankings in customer satisfaction for T-Mobile from J.D. Power and Associates reflect T-Mobile’s ongoing commitment to meeting customers’ needs. Earlier this year, J.D. Power and Associates announced that T-Mobile ranked highest in Wireless Customer Care for the third reporting period in a row.

“T-Mobile is the only wireless carrier to ever achieve highest rankings in customer satisfaction in all six regions three times in a row,” said Robert Dotson, president and chief executive officer of T-Mobile USA. “Our service-conscious employees at every level aspire to consistently achieve this valued recognition by our customers. The fact that we have again been rated at the top of all wireless carriers by our customers is a special tribute to our frontline employees and the values of T-Mobile as a company.”

The 2006 J.D. Power and Associates Wireless Regional CSI Study is based on responses from 22,871 interviews. J.D. Power and Associates measures customer satisfaction based on 42 specific service-related issues grouped into six key criteria that impact overall carrier performance. These are (in order of importance): call quality, customer service, service plan options, brand image, cost of service and billing. Carriers are ranked in six regions in the United States.
