WARREN, N.J. (BUSINESS WIRE), September 22, 2010 -
With an array of top musical acts slated to perform at the second annual
Virgin Mobile FreeFest presented by Kyocera, this year’s event will be
one to remember. Virgin Mobile’s 14 FreeFest partners will enable fans
from the Atlantic Coast to Chicago to experience “free” and enhance the
overall FreeFest experience for one and all.

From designing your own sneakers, live concert updates through Virgin
Mobile Live and demos of the latest Sony PlayStation® 3D
games along with a chance to win a Toyota Prius®, Virgin
Mobile FreeFest – being held Sept. 25 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in
Columbia, Md. – will be chock full of non-stop entertainment, freebies
and loads of rocking music.

The Attractions

The FreeFest grounds will feature several activity areas, including a
“recharge” area hosted by Kyocera, with its focus on eco-friendly
initiatives. Kyocera will reward fans with prizes for recycling at one
of 10 waste reclamation stations on-site. Text-to-screen messaging
powered by Kyocera will also keep attendees up-to-date with new
information throughout the day and allow them to take advantage of
Kyocera’s device charging stations.

While at Virgin Mobile FreeFest, festival-goers can stop by the ZYNCSM
ZONE from American Express. There, they can cool off, power up their
phones, watch live talent interviews, and step into the ZYNC photo booth
to customize their photos.

Between acts, concert-goers can visit the PlayStation® HQ to
challenge friends in the latest PlayStation® Move games and
also test drive unreleased stereoscopic 3D games. Visitors can also
spend time at Toyota’s Creation Station where they can take photos at
the Corolla photo booth, win cool stuff on the prize wheel, and enter
for a chance to win a Toyota Prius.* Fans looking to express their
creativity can visit the Converse area where they can customize their
own pair of Converse kicks.

Fans unable to attend this year’s Virgin Mobile FreeFest will still be
able to hear the great music by downloading – next month – on-demand
videos from their favorite festival bands, courtesy of Vevo. Check back

The Cause

The Virgin Mobile FreeFest provides a great experience for music fans
while benefiting young people in need through Virgin Mobile’s pro-social
initiative The Re*Generation. This year the goal is to provide
educational opportunities for homeless youth. Money raised before and at
FreeFest will benefit homeless youth organizations – Sasha Bruce
Youthwork and Green Chimneys. One dollar from each bottle sold on-site
of Aquahydrate, the official bottled water of Virgin Mobile FreeFest,
will be donated to The RE*Generation to benefit homeless youth
organizations.

“Virgin Mobile FreeFest is an opportunity for music fans to enjoy an
awesome, free festival experience while paying it forward to those who
are less fortunate,” said Ron Faris, senior director-Brand Experiences,
Virgin Mobile USA. “We hope that fans will capitalize on this chance to
pay it forward by volunteering their time or donating to the cause …
it’s all about good karma.”

Although FreeFest is free, and 25,000 lucky fans scooped up tickets in
just minutes, Virgin Mobile’s FREE I.P. program allowed fans still in
need of tickets to volunteer their time to earn their way into this
year’s festival. Those who did not have the chance to volunteer through
the FREE I.P. program can still contribute to the cause now through an
online donation and at FreeFest on Sept. 25. Virgin Mobile is
encouraging music fans everywhere to soak up some good karma and make a
suggested donation of $5 or more to receive The Converse presents RE*Gen
Remix CD, at www.virginmobilefreefest.com/download.
