Home internet only works with an open window/outside...
My 5G home internet gateway regularly gets me 0.5-3mbps DL and maybe 0.5mbps UL when placed pretty much anywhere in my home. The best spot i’ve found is a specific windowsill that, if i’m lucky, will get me a tiny bit more speed. The thing is, if i open the window it’s sitting on I suddenly can connect to high band 5G and have seen speeds of anywhere from 20-100mbps DL and 5-20mbps UL. Closing the window will near instantly disconnect me from 5G. This was not an huge issue, as i like keeping my windows open in the summer, but now that we are hitting freezing temps, it’s no longer possible. The only solution i found was to leave the gateway outside, on my porch which get’s me much better speeds, but it remains sketchy as it’s on the first floor of my home and i cant get it any higher up. The internet has told me it’s due to a special type of glass used in my home that blocks high-band 5G signals. Can anyone think of a solution to this problem? it’s either 5G or DSL here, and the DSL, while reliable, is pretty crappy.1.1KViews0likes3Comments
