Re: No home internet when using 4G LTE Cellspot which connects to the wifi modem
Hopuser wrote: Iam pissed because when I was talking to a rep. On the phone about this cellspot he asked.me if I had home internet at the house and I told him No I do not. He said that is fine all I need is my phone.....good. Now when I receive the device and plug it in nothing is happening.....so I go and find videos on setting up the cellspot from T-mobile and all the videos show that I need to plug the ethernet cable from a router or modem that has home internet WHICH I TOLD THE GUY I DONT HAVE HOME INTERNET THAT IS WHY IRILY ON MY PHONE INTERNET WHiCH IN THIS CASE HAS WEEK SIGNAL AND THAT IS WHY I GOT THIS DEVICE TO MAKE MY SIGNAL STRONGER. and now I have talk to another rep and figure out if it will still work in my case or I have to send it back and get my deposit. I hope there are more intelligent representatives that are on the other side of the phone call when we contact T-mobile service department. The guy telling you that you could use your phone as a hotspot for the Cellspot clearly has no business in customer service. The entire point of the Cellspot is to provide a cell tower type of signal for your phone because of poor coverage. It does this by using your home’s Internet service, which you should already have. The device MUST be connected via a WIRED Ethernet connection. It does not have a WiFi radio in it.14Views0likes0CommentsRe: No home internet when using 4G LTE Cellspot which connects to the wifi modem
I realize that this is an old thread, butmaybe my similar experience from a few years ago when I first hooked this cellspot up may still help someone. To resolve it, I had to place the cellspot well away from the main WiFi router….. and well away from any WiFi extenders (Mesh devices), via a 100foot long ethernet cable in another room. The cellspot radio interferes with the WiFi radios if they are too close to each other. My home WiFi immediately returned to “normal”, as it was before I deployed the Cellspot device.16Views0likes0Comments
