Unable to connect when outside U.S. with Legacy Pay As You Go
Hello All, I have had a Legacy Pay As You Go for several years now and whenever I have traveled outside the U.S., it will automatically register to the local network and connect to whatever country I'm in. However, it's no longer doing that now. I arrived in Taiwan a couple of days ago and it refuses to connect to any network. When I attempt to manually select a local it provides a listing of five different networks and three of those are labeled "forbidden". When I try to connect to the two that are not marked as "forbidden", it just shows "Couldn't connect" with no explanation. When I was in Taiwan several weeks ago, my phone automatically connected to a local network, Far East Tone, a few seconds after turning it on upon landing. And that's just how it's been the last few years of traveling outside the U.S. It will automatically connect to a local network and I'll receive a text which begins with something like "Welcome to...". I've never had to manually select a network, never had to change any phone settings and never had to notify T-Mobile in advance of my travel plans. I have since installed the SIM into two other devices and results are just the same - it refuses to connect to any network. If anyone would have any ideas as to why I am unable to connect now, I'd very much appreciate reading about them. Thanks! Greg230Views0likes1Comment
