Ethernet not working for ZYXEL

I have an ethernet amplifier called ZYXEL that I plugged into the Gateway ethernet port, trying to get internet to my metal garage building. I cant get past the red light on the Zyxel unit. Any ideas??

  I have rebooted all units several times with no changes.
