Will a Samsung S5 model G900T3 work on T-Mobile in 2022?
I already own the S5 and I have no intention of buying a new phone. I just figured that since the G900T3 was originally a T-Mobile phone I’d give them a shot.
I keep seeing posts on other forums about how the S5 is capable of VoLTE, but when I go to T-Mobile’s web site it gives me conflicting info.
T-Mobile states that the S5 is not capable of HD Voice but it is capable of VoLTE???
All other brands list both of those as being the same thing, or at least one is part of the other.
The original box for the phone and its paperwork say its got VoLTE, and 4G LTE. Yet when I tried a buddies T-mobile sim card in it it wouldn’t make a call on T-Mobile even VoLTE turned on.
Yet it works fine on AT&T. AT&T offered me a new phone for a big discount but after two really bad phones from Apple, and both an S7 and S10 Samsung needing batteries after only two years, I’ll pass on anything with a built in battery. I refuse to buy anything that has a planned expiration date for the amount they want for these phones.
I don’t see how security is a factor here, what security would I need, I use the phone for anything sensitive, no banking, no buying, just text and talk and the occasional emailing of a picture.
If I want to browse the web I have a computer at home. I do my banking at the bank in person, and I anything I buy is generally in person of over the phone with a CC. Not through a cell phone.
If I can’t switch the phone over to T-Mobile with no other expenses, I'll just stay with AT&T, I’m grandfathered into a 9 year old plan, T-Mobile is cheaper but only by $5/mo. I do not want to make the swap and find out the phone won't work because once I port my number, I lose the old AT&T price forever.
