network security key for T-Mobile hotspot

The laptop wants the network security key.  My android phone gives me the  "hotspot password" but the laptop does not like that answer. I also tried admin + last four digits of both imei cards to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks 

Update: I tried the hotspot on a different laptop, one that is already setup, and the password worked and connected without issue. So I guess I need to setup the laptop over a wifi network the first time, then try the hotspot.
