Motorolla G5 Plus Wi-Fi calling issues

As the first of two last-ditch efforts you may want to either reset the network settings or factory reset the phone. neither one of these should really be I need adoption however if all else fails and you have warranty or are within a manufacturer's warranty. You might find that getting a replacement would help.
I see this is an old thread, but I recently switched carriers to T-Mobile and wanted to keep my E5 play. It still runs Oreo and I never had a problem connecting to wifi for calls on my old plan with this phone until I switched over. I get the er04 dns error as well when I get home. I put the phone in airplane mode for a couple of seconds then turn it off and it connects right up to wifi.
