Transferring phone, use old Sim or eSim?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 with a Sim card and just received a new Google Pixel 9a. Both were acquired from T-Mobile. Is it best for me to take the Sim card from the old device and put it in the new or setup the new with eSim? I called T-Mobile support and could not get a straight answer from the tech. Each time I asked for clarification I received a conflicting answer.

    Personal preference.  Personally, I would just uae the SIM from the old device in your new Pixel.

      Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I've had this phone for 4 years and never heard of eSim until today. The info on this site and elsewhere is generic covering both cases, but not explaining why use one over the other.
