public@ep-cortex.com
In light of the recent notice on T-mobiles landing page, the following concerned me. Ordering a new phone, reviewing order info at check out, before submitting, I noticed that my personal information had been changed. My email and cell number had been replaced with “public@ep-cortex.com”. I discontinued the order. I did not make that change in my personal information. I went back into my profile to see what was there. My correct email and cell number were there. I went back to re-order the new phone, got to the place at check out to review personal information and my correct information was now there. Questions: What or who is public@ep-cortex.com ? Why did this url address replace my personal information? How and who made the correction within minutes? Is this something or nothing?
Please explain.

Same here - just got the same email listed. Considering those of us who have posted there are probably countless others whom have hesitated and backed out of the purchase. Revenue killer. Annoying and a time waster for new and current customers. Now I’m going to go in person to the T-Mobile store instead of a quick process online. Is anyone at T-Mobile reading these posts - probably want to check into it!

I was in the process of purchasing/upgrading my phone through the TMobile app. When I got to the "review order" part of the process, I also noticed that my email and cell number had been replaced with public@ep-cortex.com . I made the decision to cancel the transaction immediately and research this. I found the following website:
https://documentation.elasticpath.com/commerce/docs/cortex/ .
This provided me with enough information to make the decision to call TMOBILE , discuss this, and perform the purchase with a representative. Here is a small snippet of the information this website posted:
"Using links, we’ve designed a set of hypermedia controls that enable you to capture selections and data from the shopper".
While researching this, there was something else that caught my eye, https://ep-cortex.com/stripe/ . Within this page, which is actually a sample form with the heading of Initiate Stripe Payment Flow, click on the "stripe test credit card details". Here's the link:
https://stripe.com/docs/testing .
I will let everyone draw their own conclusion, I just wanted to put this out there in hopes that any individuals who know more about this, will post something that will allow me to better understand what this means to me, as a customer.
I am hopeful that whatever rep I wind up with does NOT tell me that it is a "warehouse communication ", that is absolutely ridiculous!

Same story here, plus my last name was mis-spelled. I exited, found this post, then started the order over. That time, the spelling was correct and my correct email address was listed. Has T-Mobile themselves posted anything to clarify what or who public@ep-cortex.com is?

Warehouse??? if you check the domain ep-cortex.com, this isn’t a normal website.

The same thing happened to us just now. I completed the order, even though I was a little upset about the email address. As soon as the order was completed, I received a text AND an email at the correct email address. I called the representative just to verify everything was ok. He said the ep.cortex.com was a warehouse communication.
Verified this as well. Warehouse. All good no worries.

Tmobile needs to put an explainer on that page.
I almost canceled my order when I saw the weird email under my name. - dmariegNewbie Caller

Upgrade at Best Buy, I got a better deal on my last 2 phones through them and bought them on EIP with no upgrade fees.

I am having the same experience. public@ep-cortex.com shown in my personal info, when trying to make an online upgrade. I have not finalized the upgrade, on the chat with TMobile rep now. They are showing my actual email address on their end. The rep is suggesting I back out and start over.
This is a PITA
T-Mobile needs to get on it and address & correct this situation

I'm wondering the same thing. What is that email? I was about to upgrade my phone on the app but got to that last page with that email under my name when it asked to confirm my information.. that's not my email so I'm hesitant to do it on the app.. especially bc of that latest notice they sent out about our information. T Mobile needs to chime in on this and let us know what's going on with that email.
