Outage-Network issue

Hi! Currently my phone is stating ‘mobile network not available’. Can someone tell me if the network is down in my area? I’m currently on hold in live chat to get some answers, but still no response. My home internet works just fine. Unable to make calls for both my son and I … our bill is on auto payment so not an issue with that. Ughhhh!
