Charged for a Cell Spot

Hey All,

I recently transferred (closed) my account and moved it into my ex-wife’s name. The rep I worked with on the phone helped me close account and pay the balance for my phone, etc.

Now a few weeks later I get a bill for $314.65 for a supposed CellSpot non-return fee. To the best of my knowledge I never received or used a CellSpot device— and have zero record of any communications with TMobile about it!  I have spent 4 hours on the phone -- (mostly on hold) in the last couple of weeks-- only to eventually be disconnected when I asked for the call to be escalated.

I asked the reps numerous times if they could provide me with a description of the specific device I was sent, and any documentation of the standard replacement fee charge— and if they have any record of my ever receiving it, but they are adamant that their system  doesn’t have that information.

So am I just supposed to pay this phantom charge for over $300?!?! Helpppp!

Same ripoff CellSpot non return fee on last bill. This is after they had overcharged me for an extra line I had taken off for almost a year and said they “couldn’t” return all the money they admitted they “mistakenly” took from me. Glad to see some of you got this reversed. They need to be investigated big time.

Same here. June 2024  Canceled service April 2024.  I had a credit balance on my account at the time I canceled and was told I would be getting a check.   Then on May 6th I Received a FINAL NOTICE bill stating I owed XX dollars as the phone bill is prorated, I contacted T-mobile and spent over 40 minutes on the line with an agent as she worked with management fix the mis-billing and I was assured my account was paid in full.  Then,11 days later another FINAL NOTICE goes out stating that I NOW owe over $100 dollars for a CellSpot Non Return Fee??  What is going on with this company?

Cellspot? Never heard of this, never received one, and it’s a $315 fee.

Help! I am in the same situation where I transferred account within Tmobile and received a cellspot charge on my last bill on the first week of January  2024. I had no collection of ordering the cellspot and never received a cellspot. Initially, I called Tmobile to understand what the charge is but the customer service representative on the phone line couldn't help me because the rep said I needed to reset my pin at a retail store by verifying my government ID. After verifying my identification and changing my pin, I called the customer service representative a second time about the phantom cellspot fee on my last bill. The representative said looking back on their history the cellspot was processed back in 2015 which was about 9 years ago to one of an old downline number and that was all that was documented. As the main account owner, I had never authorized, ordered or received a cellspot from Tmobile. Additionally, none of my downline had any collection of ordering or receiving Tmobile cellspot. The rep said he couldn't dispute the fee and asked me to pay for this phantom charge. I refused to pay for the cellspot scam that I had never ordered or received, but because my husband's credit card is still on file, Tmobile automatically charged his credit card for this bill. Tmobile also sent this bill over to collection after the charged. I am so disappointed at Tmobile and their cellspot scam. Who do I report this to, how do I get my refund, and how do I get this resolved?

Same things here but I was given a network extender when I opened my account over 10 years ago. When I opened the account I asked if I wasn't happy if I had to return it and I was told no. Now 3 weeks after I change carriers I get a letter to bring this cell spot thing to a T-Mobile store which I did to 2 different stores as I'm not sending them anything without a receipt because I don't trust them at all. The first store won't take it cause they aren't corporate but the letter only says authorized store so ok I go to the corporate store and they refuse to take it and can't give me a receipt because the SKU is so old it doesn't exist in the system anymore and they won't hand wow a receipt because they don't want to put it in the mail because they don't want to be liable for it and don't trust their own company to say they received it and that all the parts were there cause all they would have proof of is that they sent a box not what's was in it and they know the company won't be able to scan it in cause it no longer exists. So they want to charge me 138.00 for something that they sell for 28.00 and isn't worth $5. They also have no paperwork stating that I agreed to send anything back or be charged as they told me it was mine to keep period. They can have it but not without giving me a receipt. This nonsense is unacceptable. At this point they owe me for several hours of my time and gas money for my travels to 2 different stores which none of them are even near my home. I'm done with being abused by this company which is why after over 10 years I switched. I didn't even care if it cost me more money per month for my bill than to deal with a company that in my opinion are thieves, liars and abusers. You can't even call and get a real price from them. You can talk to 3 different people the same day and get 3 different prices on the same thing it's amazing. I just want nothing to do with them. I want this thing taken off my account as I did what they asked I took it to their store and they wouldn't take it and they give no option of me having proof that I have anything back and I should just trust them. Well that ship has sailed there is no trust and never will be again so T-Mobile needs to come up with a solution or take it off my account cause it never should have been there. Shame on them for pulling all of these fraudulent things on customers that were nothing but loyal to them while they have no loyalty to customers. They've gone to bait and switch and devious sales and billing practices. Shame on them for being so despicable
