Good call quality. Excelent feature set. Great bright screen and fantastic camera. The one thing that hampers the experience is UI animation lag. From pulling down the notification panel to launching apps, lag is constantly present and it's been a long time Samsung problem phones like the Google Pixel and Apple iPhone don't have. Once they fix this completely, and once Google figures out its messaging app strategy, it'll be unstoppable. I would recommend this only to existing Android users or to iPhone users looking for enhanced user features they know Apple will never bring.

This phone exceeded my expectations significantly. I've owned Samsung phones in the past most recently a Note 10. I wandered off to OnePlus for a while but the S22 ultra offered me the note experience again. What I didn't expect was how good the camera system was and how it would encourage me to actually try to take decent photos for a change. It's simply amazing how you can manipulate and enhance photos. Performance wise, the phone has been an absolute beast. It multitasks with ease and while I haven't done much with it yet, wireless Dex is already a joy to use. I love using my TV as a 75-inch spreadsheet....lol. I have the 512 GB variant which is more storage than I know what to do with so I really don't miss the SD card. I do still miss the headphone jack although I have a really good set of bluetooth earbuds and a USBC dongle so I can play lossless audio on my home stereo. Battery life has been a little mediocre but has been easy to stay on top of.... I run the phone at pretty much the maximum resolution and refresh rate so it probably impacts battery life but I don't really care.... The amazing performance is worth it.

Worth the Upgrade from an s20 Ultra

I upgraded to the 22 Ultra from the 20 Ultra. As pioneering as the 20 was when it was released, it had some small faults such as the camera focus issues. Really, that was about it. The 22 corrects all previous issues, adds an S pen, and improves performance across the board. The only thing I can fault it for is the lack of expandable storage (which made my 1TB Micro SD useless), but with the 512GB model of 22 I'm a long way away from filling it. Android Auto to this date will not display on Pioneer head units paired with the S22 Ultra but I'm sure that will be fixed soon. Excellent phone all around. Great work Samsung!

Great cameras but otherwise not impressed at all. Fingerprint reader is garbage, the latest OS on the phone is incompatible with many programs I need for my work and it seems so many things in the interface were moved just to show us they could move them or tweak the layouts. Change for changes sake is not a good way to do business. Should have kept my S20 Ultra, better phone in many ways. In fact this version of the Samsung phones has almost drive me to Apple. At least they are more reliable and work better in their galaxy of devices vs the lack of reliable interaction with Samsung and my Windows equipment.

As a personnal rule, I do upgrade my phone every two years, and this one was an easy choice. As always, the top tier phones from Samsung are an excellent choice. The S22 Ultra has new and improved features that makes everyday use an enjoyable ride. Design, style, acccess, screen layout are good as expected and easy to set up. Camara now includes the most realistic look and provide extra details in Portrait mode. Also includes the director's view which adds more control to your videos. Customizable, and plenty options out there. Only a couple cons, battery life. I haven't noticed any big improvement but still ok after a day used, and wish Samsung would've kept the external storage option. Overall a great phone.
