Same happened to me. I was referred by my sister. I said that while setting up my account. I was told that I had to wait until after my account was complete and my numbers were switched over. Then after that, I called again and was told I had to tell them while setting up the account. After the account is completed, I could not get my sister the referral. I don't think anyone that works for T-Mobile is trained how to help the customers. Or they lose a commission if they give the referral bonus to an existing customer. I tried pre-setting my referral status at their refer a friend site link, that T-Mobile gives on their main page, and it goes to a no site message. They don't give a referral bonus.
