Frozen Start-up, no shut off, side buttons not working - Instructed to buy new phone
I live in Oregon and my LG 20K worked great until a few months ago when it automatically restarted and became frozen with a logo. I tried holding the left and right buttons and the phone would not shut off and no change to the screen. After several conversations with online chat and telephone conversations the only advice I received from T-Mobile was to buy a different phone because LG was no longer supported by T-Mobile or Metro. The new phone is a Samsung. My mother lives in Mississippi and her LG phone is 3-years old and less than a week ago she noticed her phone restarted and froze. Almost a whole work day went by and she tried the buttons as instructed by Metro by T-Mobile and nothing changed at all. The online chat reworded several statements and finally stated that she would receive a brand new phone free of cost from the local retailer. It just so happened to be the same store she bought the phone. 90-minutes later she showed up at the store after several hours of pushing the buttons, the Manager disclosed that T-Mobile was no longer supporting the LG phones and that District Manager attended a meeting and then had a meeting with the retailers and told them that customers needed to purchase a new phone and a slight discount would be given. The Manager stated that NO FREE PHONES would be approved. At this point it was 2-hours since talking to the online customer service. The Manager repeated the same steps that my Mother was instructed at home and whaalaaa the phone came back to service. If Customer Service, the District Manager and the Retail Store all state that T-Mobile has decided to cease servicing LG phones and the only way to permanently fix the problem the customer is OBLIGATED TO BUY ANOTHER BRAND, - Should T-Mobile force this financial burden on their paying customers??? - Probably not according to the FCC.79Views0likes1Comment
