Network pass for a phone currently with a Japan phone number
If i’m coming from Japan to the U.S. and want to try T-Mobile on my unlocked iPhone that allows e-sims, and I have a U.S. address and U.S. credit card, etc., can I try the service with the Network Pass first 3 months free deal? In other words, the “other carrier” number would be a Japan phone number while testing, and then I would have the T-Mobile number too, on the e-sim, while trying it out. Is that ok?
If that’s ok, can I sign up while still in Japan, or do I have to wait until I land in the U.S. to active the e-sim for T-Mobile?
Thanks.

You mean in the “get full terms” link? It says it’s not for international use. Is that what you mean? Anyway, I will be in the U.S. the first week of April. I suppose I could set it up after landing, though it would be nice to have it ahead of time.

I was looking at the fine print of the deal so you may want to check because it says you must be in the US. Look in the faq in the link

I called and explained and they checked my IMEI and were willing to give me an electronic SIM, so it seems it might be ok. I was surprised by how the two operators I spoke with weren’t aware of the offer until I gave them the T-Mobile URL. Anyway, I’m not going back to the U.S. until the first week in April, so I guess it makes most sense to do this near the end of March.

You should first check with Tmobile if the offer is available for an international number or if it's only for USA carriers.
