If you're traveling abroad and find you have no signal or are getting an error message, we can help! Use this information to troubleshoot service problems while roaming internationally or on a cruise ship.

Help for all international issues

Before getting into specifics, try these general steps to fix most issues.

  1. Check if service is available in the country you're visiting and that your device is compatible.
  2. Dial #RON# (#766#) to make sure data roaming is turned on.
  3. Make sure Airplane mode is off.
  4. Perform a manual network selection and try to connect to all of T-Mobile's roaming partners in that country at least three times.
  5. Try turning off your mobile device, wait about 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
  6. Check if you have international roaming blocking active on your line.
  7. If those things still don't work, check out the troubleshooting steps on this page for your specific situation.

Issues with calls or messages

  1. If the issue is only with picture messaging, make sure you can access the internet. If not, follow steps for Can't use data.
  2. Double check the phone number and make sure you are dialing it correctly.
    • If you hear an automated message that says a two digit number, you must enter the number you hear to complete the call.
  3. If you're connected to Wi-Fi and using Wi-Fi Calling, follow Wi-Fi Calling Troubleshooting instead.
  4. If it still doesn't work, contact us through messaging or social platforms or call our international roaming care number +1-505-998-3793 from another line.

Can't use data

  1. For destinations not included in the list of 215+ Simple Global countries and destinations, data roaming must be enabled by dialing #RON# (#766#).
  2. Data roaming is disabled for some destinations, such as Cruise Ships.
  3. Check for a text message that says your high-speed international data limit has been reached.
    • Once reached, speeds will be reduced to 256 kbps until your next bill cycle.
    • Add an International Pass to get more high-speed international data.
  4. Make sure your APN & Data settings are correct and set to IPv4/IPv6 Auto or IPv4 Only
  5. Turn off any VPN settings or apps.
  6. If it still doesn't work, call our international roaming care number +1-505-998-3793 for help or contact us through messaging or social platforms.
