Admin page
 

Access web portal

  1. Connect to the Mobile HotSpot via Wi-Fi.
  2. Launch an available web browser on your connected device and go to http://mobile.hotspot/.
    Note: If there are any issues accessing the web portal using the mobile.hotspot url, you may use 192.168.43.1 instead.
  3. Enter the web portal administrator password and click Apply.
    Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. You will arrive at the web portal.

Basic wireless network settings

To change basic wireless network settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Network in the top toolbar.
  2. Review and adjust any of the following settings:
    • DHCP Server
    • DHCP Address Range
    • DHCP Lease Time
    • Data Limit
    • Network Name (SSID)
    • Security
    • Password
    • Broadcast Channel
    • Broadcast SSID

Change administrator password

Your administrator password is the password you use to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page on your computer. Changing the administrator password does not change the password you use to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot. See: Change the Wi-Fi password below to change your Wi-Fi password.

 

To change your administrator password, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Configuration in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the Tools button.
  3. Enter new password in the New Password field.
  4. Re-enter new password in the Verify New Password field.
  5. Click Apply.

Important: Write down this new administrator password. If you lose or forget it, you will need to complete a factory reset to regain access. For more information, see Reset.

Change the SSID

To change the SSID, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Network in the top toolbar.

  2. Scroll down to the Wi-Fi Configuration section.
  3. Select the Network Name (SSID) field.
  4. Delete the current information and enter a new name.
  5. Click Apply then click OK.
  6. Any currently connected devices willneed to forget their previous connections and reconnect.

Change the Wi-Fi password

The Wi-Fi password is the password used to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot. Changing the Wi-Fi password does not change the password you use to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page from your computer. See: Change administrator password above to change your administrator password.

 

To change the Wi-Fi password, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Network in the top toolbar.
  2. Scroll down to the Wi-Fi Configuration section.
  3. Select the Password field.
  4. Enter your new password
  5. Click Apply then click OK.
  6. Any currently connected devices will need to update their connection passwords.

Local area network (LAN) status

To view the status of your local area network (LAN), follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal
  2. From the Home screen, scroll down to view any of the following information:
    • System Information
    • T-Mobile Network (IP Address, DNS)
    • My HotSpot Connection
    • Connected Devices

MAC filtering settings

This section includes the following procedures:

  • Enable / disable MAC Filtering
  • Delete a rule
  • Add a new rule

 

To enable or disable MAC Filtering, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the MAC Filtering button.
  3. Click the box to check or un-check Enable MAC Filtering.

 

To delete a Trusted Client MAC Address, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the MAC Filtering button.
  3. Click to highlight the MAC address you want to remove.
  4. Click Delete Client.

 

To add a Trusted Client MAC Address, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the MAC Filtering button.
  3. Click in the Add Trusted Client MAC Address field.
  4. Enter the MAC address.
  5. Click Add Client.

 

Port filtering settings

This section includes the following procedures:

  • Enable / disable Port Filtering
  • Delete a rule
  • Add a new rule

 

To enable or disable Port Filtering, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the Port Filtering button.
  3. Click the box to check or un-check Enable Port Filtering.

 

To delete a rule, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the Port Filtering button.
  3. Perform one of the following:
    • Under Allowed Applications, click the box to un-check any of the following:
      • Select All Applications
      • DNS (Domain Name Server)
      • HTTP
      • HTTPS
      • FTP
      • E-mail(POP3)
      • E-mail(IMAP)
      • VPN
      • Telnet
      • RTP
    • Under Custom Applications, click Revert next to the entry you want to remove.

 

To add a new rule, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the Port Filtering button.
  3. Perform one of the following:
    • Under Allowed Applications, click the box to check any of the following:
      • Select All Applications
      • DNS (Domain Name Server)
      • HTTP
      • HTTPS
      • FTP
      • E-mail(POP3)
      • E-mail(IMAP)
      • VPN
      • Telnet
      • RTP
    • Under Custom Applications, enter the following information then click Apply:
      • Application Name
      • Port Range
      • Port Type

Battery
 

Insert

  1. Power the device off.
  2. Place your fingernail in the groove and firmly “pop” the cover off the device.
  3. Insert the battery:
    1. Align the gold contacts.
    2. Press down gently and secure the battery.
  4. Replace the back cover by pressing it onto the phone.

Remove

  1. Power the phone off.
  2. Place your fingernail in the groove and firmly “pop” the cover off the device.

  3. Grip the battery at the top end.
  4. Lift the battery up and out of its compartment.
  5. Replace the back cover by pressing it onto the phone.

 
Battery life
 
  1. Access the Web Portal and click Configuration in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the Tools button.
  3. Under Power Management, click to check or un-check Hibernate.
  4. Click Apply.
 
SD card
 

Format SD card

Formatting the SD card deletes all data on it. You may wish to format the SD card if you want to delete the files, if files or apps on the SD card are not working, or if the SD card is not working.

 

To format the SD card while inserted in the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Configuration from the top toolbar.
  2. Click the Tools button.

  3. Scroll down to Format SD card and click Format.

    Insert / remove SD card

    To insert or remove the SD card, follow these steps:

     

    1. Remove the mini USB connector from the side of the device.
    2. Pull the cable all the way around the device and remove the other USB connector from its slot.
    3. Slide the microSD card into the the card slot until it clicks.

    Open or delete files using the computer

    To open or delete files on the SD card using a computer, follow these steps:

     

    You must use the USB cable that comes with your phone.

     

    1. Connect the USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
    2. On your computer, click Open folder to view files and click OK.
    3. You will see another Removable Disk window, click Open folder to view files and click OK again.
      • Note: One folder shows files saved in your phone memory and one folder shows files saved on your SD card.
    4. Locate the folder that contains files you want to delete.
    5. Once you have located the files, right click and select Delete.
    6. When done, disconnect the USB cable.

    Transfer files between computer & SD card

    To transfer files and pictures between the computer and SD card, follow these steps:

     

    Important: You must use the USB cable that comes with your phone.

     

    1. Connect the USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
    2. On your computer, click Open folder to view files and click OK.
    3. You will see another Removable Disk window, click Open folder to view files and click OK again.
      • Note: One folder shows files saved in your phone memory and one folder shows files saved on your SD card.
    4. Locate the folder that contains files saved on your SD card.
    5. Locate the file(s) you want to move on your computer.
    6. Cut or copy and paste the desired file(s) from your computer to your SD card.
    7. When done, disconnect the USB cable.
 
SIM card
 
  1. Place your fingernail in the groove and firmly “pop” the cover off the device.


  1. With the label side facing upwards, carefully slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot until it “clicks” into place.

 

  1. Insert the battery, making sure to align the gold contacts
  2. Press down gently to secure the battery.
  3. Position the battery cover over the battery compartment and press down firmly along the edges to snap it back into place.

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Configuration in the top toolbar.
  2. In the APN section, enter the Profile Name and APN information for a new connection.

  3. Click Save.

  2. Click the drop-down menu next to Mobile data.

  3. Select one of the following:

  3. Click the To field and enter the recipients' phone numbers separated by colons (:).
  4. Click the Type message here field and enter your message.

  1. Access the Web Portal and click the Messaging icon from the top toolbar.
  2. Click to highlight a message thread from the left inbox list.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click to place a checkmark beside the message you wish to delete, then click Delete.

Change SIM PIN

To change the SIM PIN code, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security on the top toolbar.
  2. Click Change.
  3. Enter the old SIM PIN code and click OK.
  4. Enter the new SIM PIN code and click OK.
  5. Re-enter the new SIM PIN code and click OK.

 

Turn on / off SIM PIN

The SIM PIN code can protect your SIM from being used in other devices. When you turn on the SIM PIN lock, the device prompts you to enter the code after turning it on.

 

To lock and unlock the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Security on the top toolbar.
  2. Click the check box to check or un-check Lock SIM Card.
  3. Enter the SIM PIN and click OK.
 
Mobile Device Unlock
 
  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. Insert the non-T-Mobile SIM and turn on the device.
  4. Access the Web Portal
  5. On the Home page, click Unlock Device.
  6. Enter the unlock code and click OK.

Buttons

Front View

  1. Notification bar: Shows information about the connection status, signal strength, battery level, and time, and displays notifications about incoming messages, and other action.
  2. Display: Shows all the information needed to operate your device, such as the number of wireless connected devices, number of received messages (along with date, time and phone number), and data usage.
  3. USB Connector: Provides a direct connection for USB-capable devices using this connector type.

 

Side View

  1. Power key: Switches the phone off and on.
  2. WPS key: Allows you to pair with devices currently using a WPS connection. The WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) feature allows you to pair your Wi-Fi-capable device without the need for entering a passcode. This process is similar to Wi-Fi Direct pairing.
  3. Charging Port: Allows you to connect a compatible power cable.
  4. Mini USB Connector: Provides a mini USB for connection to devices using this type of connector.
  5. microSD Card Slot (internal): Allows you use a microSD card to expand the memory of your device.
  6. USB Connector: Provides a USB plug for connection to devices using this type of connector. This provides your target device with wired Internet access.

Device resets
 

Master reset from settings menu

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. Access the Web Portal and click Configuration in the top toolbar.
  2. Click the Tools button.
  3. Scroll down to Device Factory Reset and click Factory Reset.
  4. The device will reboot automatically.

Master reset with hardware keys

 

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. Turn on the device.
  2. Locate the Power and WPS keys along the top of the device.
  3. Press and hold these two keys for 5 seconds to display an on-screen Factory Reset message.
  4. Press the Power key to reset the device. Otherwise, press the WPS key to cancel the reset operation.
  5. Once completed, the device should reboot and the main screen will re-appear.
 
Software updates
 

Your device automatically updates to the latest software version. No additional action is required.
