I am updating my review because I did receive a call from manager, Tenita who was upset at my last negative review regarding our conversation. After being able to hear more detailed information, (less rebuttals with slower, not so overwhelming fast responses) I do feel that T-mobile corporate has taken away the systems needed for their staff to properly help customers. Though they still instruct customers that they can go into the store for help regarding those specific requests. Ours was specifically regarding adding data one time to prepaid plan. (800#/611 explained you can do this in store 1GB for $10 with their assistance). This presents a grey area for both employees and customers and is causing direct conflict and negative interactions between them. I also believe that the employees are pressed on time spent handling these situations, which is why I suspect rebuttals are issued because it's the easiest way for them to move on with something they dont have the ability to help with. I do believe customers deserve the actual information as to why this happens, which goes along with providing them proper time and patient approach. Most customers are not going to understand the inner/backend workings of things, their mindset entering is just on the problem they are having with service or device. I think Amira offered all the help she could, and Tenita did her best with the road blocks in their way to assist. However, if the customer service keeps directing people that the store should be able to assist, how many times can an employee really put up with explaining this to customers without coming up with simple rebuttals before it seems to be a waste of time? This review is a reflection of the employees, not a reflection of T-Mobile. Amira is stellar, Tenita courageously took the time even through frustration and hurt to explain further after my negative review. I think that proves desire to rectify and help in a situation where customers feel frustrated to help them regardless. 1 star is what T-mobile corporate deserves in order to equip their staff properly with the systems needed, or in order to direct their customer service to not divert people to in-store help knowing those specific services are no longer an option. I request the GM follows up on this properly to corporate communication team, especially the customer service team (611 and 800#) who are misleading customers to have in-store help for services they already know can't be fulfilled. There is a lack of communication between corporate customer service and stores obviously and that needs to be tended to asap in order to prevent the staff and customers at this location (and most likely many others) from unnecessary stress and negative interactions. This would obviously prevent negative reviews directed at this store and many others and benefit the company as whole. 5 stars for employees - 1 star for t-mobile corporate handling of systems/communication= 4 star for this review. thank you T-Mobile staff Dekalb IL for your patience and understanding, wishing you all each much abundance in your current and future.
