I hope no one else had a experience with Verizon like my family had. Their customer service at the Verizon Crystal lake il store was terrible because of the problems with the phone service and over charging, then losing our phone trade ins. After 4 trips there they finally found where our trade ins were. The central warehouse recorded receiving our old phones, they never started taking 20 dollars a month off our bill for our trade ins. They give you a large amount but break it down through out 3 years so you can't switch companies. Anyway My wife and I were driving thru Rockford il. After visiting one of our nieces. We went to the Stockholm inn in the Rockford Plaza. After we ate we were walking back to our vehicle and I noticed a T-Mobile across the parking lot. I had heard good reviews on T-Mobile. I said to my wife, let's stop in and explain what's happening with Verizon and us. I said I know we're stuck for 3 years and the Verizon rep. in Crystal lake said there's nothing we can do about it unless we want to lose our trade ins. and pay off our internet box that we didn't know that you buy it not rent it for our Wireless internet. We walked in and we were instantly approached by a gentleman named Devin. I explained to him our situation with Verizon and I know there's nothing we can do about it, I just wanted to know if they legally can get away with it. I explained We only are half way through the 3 year contract. He looked at me and immediately said he knows about the 3 year deal. Verizon says no contract but when you trade in a phone they only give you so much a month for 36 months. He was very professional and knowledgeable, he said T-Mobile can help us out. He mentioned he's seen our type of situations before. We owed a little over $700 on each of our phones. He said T-Mobile will pay up to $800 on each phone plus there was a $400 rebate that we could use to payoff the router (we didn't know we had to buy). He also got us the same service for almost half the price of what Verizon was charging. I'm 76 years old and my wife is in her 60s. He handled everything. He only asked us a couple of questions and he took care of the rest. I've had Xfinity, Verizon, ATT. This T-Mobile rep. was fantastic. As I sat there I also noticed his other teammates helping others in the same way. I don't know if T-Mobile is aware of it, but they have a Triple A plus team at that location.
