I want to recognize three outstanding T-Mobile employees — Dean, Ahmad, and Eddie — for truly exceptional customer service. They went far above and beyond to help me with what turned into an incredibly complicated phone replacement problem.
I had broken my iPhone, including the camera, which meant that Face ID no longer worked. I filed a claim through my T-Mobile protection plan and received a refurbished replacement phone from Assurant. I brought both phones into the T-Mobile store to have my contacts, photos, messages, emails, and other information transferred.
Dean took charge, and it was immediately obvious that he really knows what he is doing. Because the camera and Face ID were broken, transferring the data was much more complicated than normal. Dean patiently figured out a workaround and successfully transferred everything to the replacement phone. He is an excellent technician and also a genuinely nice guy.
Unfortunately, after all that work, Dean discovered that the refurbished replacement phone Assurant had sent me was itself defective. My data had transferred, but the phone number could not be activated because of problems with the modem and antenna.
What followed was hours of frustrating calls and back-and-forth between Assurant and T-Mobile to get approval for a second replacement phone. Dean, Ahmad, and Eddie never treated this as someone else's problem. They patiently explained the situation, worked through the complicated process, and stayed with me until another replacement was finally authorized.
Dean then reactivated my old, damaged iPhone so that I would leave the store with a working phone while I waited for the new replacement to arrive.
What impressed me most was their dedication. The store closed at 9:00 p.m., but Dean, Ahmad, and Eddie stayed with me until approximately 10:30 p.m. — 90 minutes after closing. They could easily have told me to come back another day. Instead, they stayed until they had done everything possible to solve my problem.
All three were knowledgeable, patient, kind, and excellent communicators. Dean deserves particular recognition for his technical expertise and problem-solving ability, while Ahmad and Eddie were wonderful throughout the long and frustrating process. These three gentlemen are exactly the kind of employees T-Mobile should want representing the company.
I am not writing simply to say thank you. I am specifically asking T-Mobile leadership to recognize Dean, Ahmad, and Eddie for their extraordinary customer service. I hope this commendation can be shared with their store manager, district and regional leadership, and those responsible for employee recognition.
Technology sometimes fails. Processes sometimes fail. In my case, even the replacement phone failed. What customers remember are the people who take ownership of the problem and stay with them until there is a solution. That is exactly what Dean, Ahmad, and Eddie did.
T-Mobile should be very proud to have them on its team.
