All financial companies need to share customers’ personal information to run their everyday business. In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customers’ personal information; the reasons T-Mobile chooses to share; and whether you can limit this sharing.

What we do

How does T-Mobile protect my personal information?
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

How does T-Mobile collect my personal information?
We collect your personal information, for example, when you:

  • Open an account or apply for financing
  • Pay your bills or provide account information
  • Pay us by check

We also collect your personal information from other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

  • Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness
  • Affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • Sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more on your rights under state law.

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Our affiliates include companies with a T-Mobile name and financial companies such as T-Mobile Financial LLC.

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.

Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • T-Mobile USA, Inc., T-Mobile Financial LLC, T-Mobile Leasing LLC, T-Mobile Puerto Rico LLC do not jointly market financial products with nonaffiliated financial companies.

Other important information

Vermont
Under Vermont law, we will not share information we collect about Vermont residents with companies outside of our corporate family, unless the law allows. For example, we may share information with your consent, to service your accounts or under agreements with other financial institutions.

California
Under California law, we must get your permission before we can share your personal financial information with outside companies. This does not apply to sharing with outside companies that offer financial products or services. You have a right to "opt out" of information sharing with outside companies for those purposes.
