You can cancel your existing account later if needed.   ## [](https://www.t-mobile.com)Migrate your account to Connect by T-Mobile Prepaid Use this process to migrate an existing T-Mobile Prepaid line to a new Connect by T-Mobile Prepaid account, or for existing lines that do not have the option to change to Connect by T-Mobile online. ### What you will need to get started Before you can migrate your account to Connect by T-Mobile you will need these items: - A new SIM Card (applicable cost associated). Your current T-Mobile SIM card will not work with Connect by T-Mobile Prepaid but you can keep your existing number. If you have more than one T-Mobile number you want to migrate to Connect by T-Mobile, [Contact Us](https://www.t-mobile.com/contact-us). - The mobile number from your existing account you want to migrate. - Existing T-Mobile [account number](https://www.t-mobile.com/support/account/find-your-account-number). - [PIN/Passcode](https://www.t-mobile.com/support/account/set-up-your-customer-pinpasscode) for your existing T-Mobile account which is different from your T-Mobile.com password - it's the one you use when you call us. - Secondary email address (different from the one associated with your existing T-Mobile account). ### What you need to know - Some services and benefits are unavailable for Connect by T-Mobile, such as Device Protection and Netflix On Us. - Any existing service promotions such as free lines or monthly discounts will be lost and may not be available if you decide to convert back in the future. - When you migrate your account any existing outstanding service or device payment balance on your consumer account will immediately become due. - Your voicemail account will be reset and you will lose any voicemails not saved to your device. - Your account tenure will reset, which may affect your ability to qualify for select programs in the near future. - Keep your account active until you activate your new SIM card. - Once your new SIM card is activated it will take 2 - 4 hours to transfer your existing number to your new SIM card. ### Next, follow these steps Some steps may direct you to say you don't have a T-Mobile account or SIM card already. Continue to follow the step-by-step instructions outlined and your account will migrate successfully. 01. Go to [https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/home](https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/home). 02. Select __Shop__ 03. Select __Bring Your Own Device__ to use your existing phone. If you want to purchase a new device [Contact Us](https://www.t-mobile.com/contact-us). 04. Enter your ZIP code. 05. Select __Continue__. 06. In the Check IMEI section, check if your device will work with T-Mobile service or select __Skip__. 07. In the SIM card activation section, choose __I need to buy a T-Mobile SIM card__. 08. Select __Continue__. Your current SIM card will not work with Connect by T-Mobile Prepaid. Choose __I have a T-Mobile SIM card__ if you have a T-Mobile branded SIM card that has never been used before. 09. Select __New Customer__ when asked if you __Are you an existing customer?__ We are creating a new Prepaid account your existing number will transfer to. 10. In the Product Selection, select __Connect by T-Mobile__ plan. You can also select __See More__ to learn about what each plan includes. 11. Select __Go to Cart__. 12. Verify your SIM card and plan selection. 13. Select __Check Out__ on the __Shopping Cart__ screen. Do not add on additional lines if you intend to migrate more than one mobile number to Connect by T-Mobile. Instead, [Contact Us](https://www.t-mobile.com/contact-us). 14. You will be prompted to Sign Up or Log in. Choose __Sign Up__ and enter your new account information, then select __Continue__: - Email Address, which must be different from the one associated with your original T-Mobile account. - 4-digit PIN - Name - Address, select __Original__ or __Suggested address__ if a pop-up appears - Preferred language 15. Enter a __Line nickname__ if you want For example, “My Line” or “Jennifer’s line” and select __Use your existing number__. 16. Next, enter details from your __existing__ T-Mobile account: - Mobile Number - Account Number - PIN/Passcode 17. Complete the emergency address e911 information: __Opt out__ or __Opt in__ (default). 18. Add primary place of use address. 19. Select __Continue__. 20. Add an email address under __Shipping notifications__. 21. Select __Continue__. 22. Enter your payment method and address. 23. Review and agree to the payment terms and conditions. 24. Select __Continue__. 25. Review the order and Terms & Conditions. 26. Select __Accept & Place Order__ to finish. 27.
