Use these steps to support voice commands on the Nokia Lumia 435.

 

 

 

Enable voice commands (Cortana)

  1. Create or sign into your existing Microsoft account.
  2. On the start screen, swipe left, and tap Cortana.
  3. Follow the instructions shown on your phone.
    To turn off Cortana, open Cortana > Menu > Settings > Turn off.

 

 

Open an app

  1. On the start screen, swipe left, and tap Cortana.
  2. Tap the microphone.
  3. Say "open" followed by the name of the application.
  4. Answer any clarifying questions from Cortana.

 

 

Voice dial a contact

  1. On the start screen, swipe left, and tap Cortana.
  2. Tap the microphone.
  3. Say "call" followed by the name of the contact.
  4. Answer any clarifying questions from Cortana.

 

 

Write a text message (SMS) with voice

  1. On the start screen, swipe left, and tap Cortana.
  2. Tap the microphone.
  3. Say "text message."
  4. Answer any clarifying questions from Cortana create and send message.
