This page provides high-level features and steps to set up. For issues and helpful hints to use or troubleshoot Google TV, go to support.google.com and search for Google TV.

Connect TVision HUB 

Before you start, check that you have:

  • A Wi-Fi internet connection (Ethernet cable required for optional use of the LAN port)
  • A Google account is required to download apps and games

Connect your HUB

  1. Plug your TVision HUB into any open HDMI port on the TV.
  2. Plug the micro-USB cable provided (small end) into the TVision HUB (port marked with “DC 5V”), and plug the adapter into a power outlet or an available USB input on your TV. 
    1. Use the power adapter provided with the device to ensure the device is receiving the appropriate amount of power. 
  3. Open the back of the remote and insert the batteries.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your remote.
  5. Follow the instructions on your screen to finish setup and device activation.

 

Set up TVision HUB

 

Set up with Google Home App

 
  1. When your TV displays, "Set up with Google Home App”, download and open the Google Home app on your phone and select Set Up Google TV Device (if you don't want to set up in the Google Home app, select Set up on TV instead).
  2. Scan the QR code with your mobile device.
  3. Follow the instructions on your phone to connect to create or add to an existing home profile and connect to Wi-Fi.
  4. Once completed and all apps have installed, the device will run a remote control set up for control of TV volume, power, and input with the TVision HUB remote.
  5. Select Get Started to begin set up.
 

Set up on TV with your TVision HUB remote

 
  1. After selecting Set up on your TV instead, follow these instructions to sign into wifi and your Google account to complete set up.
  2. Select your wifi connection in the list on screen (if connected via ethernet, your device will move to the next step).
  3. Enter the password for the chosen Wi-Fi connection.
  4. Sign into a Google account (a Google account is required for use of the TVision HUB w/ Google TV).
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setup.
  6. Once completed and all apps have installed, the device will run a remote control set up for control of TV volume, power, and input with the TVision HUB remote.
  7. Select Get Started to begin set up.

 

Program TVision HUB remote

You will be prompted to connect your TVision HUB remote when turning the device on for the first time. The remote control needs to have line-of-sight with the TV - so make sure you point the remote at the TV when you want to control TV Power, Input, Volume, and Mute. 

 

Program the TVision HUB remote - During initial setup

 

You will be prompted to program your TVision HUB remote when turning the device on for the first time. During the initial set up, the TVision HUB remote will be paired with the TVision HUB and then the TVision HUB remote will be programmed to the TV.

  1. Pair the TVision HUB remote to the TVision HUB.
    • Make sure the remote is within 8 inches of the TVision HUB with a clear line of sight.
    • Hold the back and home buttons at the same time. The LED light will blink until the remote is connected and the TV will display a message indicating the remote has successfully connected.
  2. Follow the on-screen TVision HUB set up instructions.

Program the TVision HUB remote to control TV volume, power and input– After Initial Set Up

 

Follow these steps to pair the TVision HUB remote to a new TV when the TVision HUB is already set up.

  1. Hold the Home button on the remote.
  2. Go to the Settings icon and select OK on the remote to select.
  3. Go to Remotes & Accessories.
  4. Select Smart Control.
  5. Follow on screen instructions.
 

Paired remote is unresponsive

 
  1. On the TVision HUB device, hold the button on side of the device for 5 seconds (this is the button on the TVision HUB, not the remote).
  2. You will be prompted to connect your TVision HUB remote using the steps on this page to Program.
 

Change accounts

 

Google TV suggestions are based on viewing history. To get personalized results in Google TV and on device apps, make sure you're signed into the appropriate Google account. To switch accounts:

  1. Hold the Home button on the HUB remote.
  2. Select settings from the on-screen menu.
  3. Select Accounts & Sign In.
  4. Select Add another account to create a profile for another user.
  5. Select Add a kid for an account with parental controls enabled. 
 

Remove/manage account

 
  1. Hold the Home button on the HUB remote.
  2. Select Settings from the on-screen menu.
  3. Select Accounts & Sign In.
