About Arlo Go 2

App and camera setup
These instructions go in conjunction with the Arlo Go app instructions.
Open the Arlo Go 2 Quick Start Guide for visual instructions.
- Press the release button on the bottom of the camera and separate the camera from the camera housing.
- Insert the battery, SIM card and optional microSD card.
- We recommend charging the battery indoors before mounting your camera.
- For LTE access, verify that the SIM card is installed and activated.
- Insert the camera back into the housing.
- Download the Arlo app and follow the setup instructions. Do not begin mounting your camera before the Arlo app instructs you to during the installation process.
- Mount your camera.
- Before mounting, make sure you've found a good location for LTE signal strength and motion detection.
- Mount your camera onto a flat, supportive surface.
The LED changes color and blinks depending on the camera's charge level and the camera's status.
LED behavior during setup
- Slow blinking blue: The camera is attempting to connect to a Wi-Fi network or is in QR scanning mode.
- Fast blinking blue: The camera is establishing a Wi-Fi or LTE network connection.
- Fast blinking amber: The camera did not connect to the Wi-Fi network or it did not connect to the LTE network.
- Solid amber: The camera does not detect an activated SIM card in its SIM card slot.
LED behavior after setup
- Solid blue: The LED lights are solid blue when the camera is powered on and then turns off to conserve battery power.
- Fast blinking blue: The camera's charging cable is plugged into a power adapter or the camera is connected to the optional Arlo Solar Panel VMA5600 (sold separately).
- Single blink or double blink amber every 60 seconds: The battery charge is low. A single blink every 60 seconds indicates a low battery charge. A double blink indicates a critical battery charge level.
- Alternating blue and amber: A firmware update is in progress.
- Single blink amber, followed by a restart: The camera has been factory reset.
Arlo Go app
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Create Account.
- Enter the following:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Confirm Email Address
- Password
- Confirm Password
- (Check/uncheck) Keep me up-to-date on the latest news, support and more from Arlo.
- Check, I understand and agree to the Terms of Service.
- Select Continue.
- Go to the email account you entered and look for a verification email from Arlo.
- In the verification email, select Verify Email.
- Go back to the Arlo app.
- Secure your Arlo account.
- (Check/uncheck) Push Notifications
- (Check/uncheck) SMS Text Message
- Select Secure My Account.
- Enter your phone number.
- Select Continue.
- Verify your phone number.
- Arlo will send you a code based on how you secured your account above (SMS/Push Notifications).
- Enter that code to verify your phone number and select Continue.
- Add a trusted device.
- Select Trust.
- Enter a name for this trusted device.
- Select Continue.
Change
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Settings.
- In the Account section, select Profile > Login Settings.
- Enter your old password.
- Enter a new password and then confirm it.
- Select Change Password.
Reset
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Forgot Password?
- Enter your email address.
- Select Send Email.
- Select the link provided in that email.
- Enter a new password.
- Select Submit.
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Add Device.
- Follow the Arlo app instructions to add your Arlo Go camera. During the setup process, the Arlo app:
- Detects the activated SIM card in your camera and attempts to access the T-Mobile network.
- Prompts you to scan one or more QR codes displayed in the app with your camera.
- Discovers your camera and offers you the option to connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Use this option when the camera is in range of a Wi-Fi network.
- Guides you through camera positioning.
- Place your camera in a location with good mobile network coverage. If you want your camera to use only LTE after initial setup, you can change the settings so that it doesn't connect to Wi-Fi networks.
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Settings > My Devices.
- Select your camera.
- Select Connected To > Cellular Settings > Signal Strength. If the signal strength is consistently less than three bars, consider moving your camera to a location with better signal strength.
Camera positioning is available only when the camera is not streaming, recording motion, or using the Motion Detection test.
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Settings > My Devices.
- Select your camera.
- Select Device Utilities > Camera Positioning. The camera starts streaming video. The signal strength bar indicates the Wi-Fi signal that your camera is receiving at its current location.
You can add friends to your Arlo account. Friends can view live streams from your cameras; record video clips; view, share, mark as favorite, and delete clips from your library; and take snapshots. Access/rights for your friends can be set up through your Arlo account.
Add a friend
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Settings.
- Under ACCOUNT, select Grant Access.
- Select Add or +.
- Enter your friend's first name and email address.
- Select the Arlo devices that you want your friend to access.
- To grant access rights to your friend, select Allow Access Rights. Selecting Allow Access Rights allows this friend to change your account and camera settings.
- Select Send Invite. An email message is sent inviting your friend to create an Arlo account.
Edit a friend's access privileges
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Settings.
- Under ACCOUNT, select Grant Access. A list of your friends displays with the status of their accounts.
- Select the friend and select Edit.
- Select cameras to select or deselect them.
- Select Allow Access Rights. Selecting Allow Access Rights allows this friend to change your account and camera settings.
- Select Done.
Delete a friend
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Settings.
- Under ACCOUNT, select Grant Access.
- Select the friend and select Edit.
- Select Delete Friend.
- Select Yes.
When you open the Arlo app, the Devices page displays your camera feeds.
View your camera feeds
- Select Play on the camera feed.
- To stop viewing and listening to the live feed, select Stop.
Record clips from live video
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select the camera feed image.
- Select Record to begin recording. This icon turns red to indicate that you are recording the live feed.
- To stop recording, select Record again.
Take a snapshot from a live video
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select the camera feed image.
- Select Snapshot. The snapshot is saved in your library.
Turn the camera spotlight on and off manually
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select the camera feed.
- Select Spotlight.
- To adjust the brightness, select and hold the icon and adjust the slider.
- To turn off the spotlight, select Spotlight.
Motion detection activity zones
- Select Settings > My Devices.
- Select the camera.
- Under VIDEO, select Activity Zones.
- Select the +
- Move the zone to the desired position in the camera feed image.
- Continue to reposition and resize the zone.
- Select Save.
2-Way Audio
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select the camera feed image.
- Select the microphone icon.
- The first time you use 2-Way Audio, allow Arlo to use your phone's microphone.
- Select the microphone button. 2-Way Audio is activated.
- To turn off 2-Way Audio, select the x.
Turn the camera's siren on and off manually
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Siren.
- Select Activate Siren. If you have multiple cameras, you are prompted to select one.
- Swipe the siren icon to the right. The camera siren turns on.
- To turn off the siren, select the slider at the top of the Devices page.
Modes
You can arm or disarm your Arlo cameras and devices and you can set up a schedule to automatically arm each device.
- Open the Arlo app.
- Select Mode.
- From here you can set a number of rules for modes.
Camera settings
You can view or change the settings for each camera using either of these methods:
- Select Settings > My Devices and select the camera.
- Select the Menu icon or the Device Settings icon below the camera feed.
