Learn how to use text to speech to have messages read out loud on an iPhone running Apple iOS 15. 

 

Set up

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content.
  2. Tap the slider to enable Speak Selection to see a Speak button when you highlight text.
  3. Tap the slider to enable Speak Screen to read off the screen when you swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers.

 

Text to speech settings

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content.
  2. Tap to adjust the following settings:
    • Voices: Choose from a variety of different languages and voices
    • Speaking Rate: Choose how fast the device reads to you
