Learn how to block, delete and save SMS / MMS messages on an iPhone running Apple iOS 15. 

Block messages or spam

From settings

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Messages > Blocked Contacts > Add New.
  2. Tap the contact you wish to block.

From the number

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the text message from the number you wish to block.
  3. Tap the contact name or number, then tap the info icon that looks like the letter "i".
  4. Tap the contact name or number.
  5. Tap Block this Caller > Block Contact.

Unblock messages

From settings

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon.
  2. Tap Messages > Blocked Contacts > Edit.
  3. Tap the - next to the number or contact you wish to unblock.
  4. Tap Unblock.

From the number

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the text message from the number you wish to block.
  3. Tap the contact name or number, then tap the info icon that looks like the letter "i".
  4. Tap the contact name or number.
  5. Tap Unblock this Caller.

Delete picture messages (MMS)

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the thread containing the message you want to delete.
  3. Tap and hold on the message you want to delete.
  4. Tap More...
  5. Select any additional messages to delete, then tap the trash icon.
  6. Tap Delete Message.

Delete text messages (SMS)

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the thread containing the message you want to delete.
  3. Tap and hold on the message you want to delete.
  4. Tap More...
  5. Select any additional messages to delete, then tap the trash icon.
  6. Tap Delete Message.

Save pictures received in a message (MMS)

  1. Tap on the picture in the desired picture message.
  2. Tap the up arrow icon at the bottom-left-hand corner.
  3. Tap Save Image.

SMS service center number

  1. From the Home screen, open the Phone application.
  2. Tap Keypad, then dial the following number: **5005*7672*12063130004#.
  3. Tap the green Call icon. The message Setting Succeeded should display.
