Use these steps to support network settings on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4.

 

 

 

APN & data settings

  1. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks.
  3. Tap Access Point Names and tap T-Mobile US LTE if it is available.
  4. If it's not showing, tap the Menu icon with three dots, then tap Reset to default to reset the settings.
  5. To manually add the T-Mobile APN, tap ADD and enter the following information:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • Multimedia message proxy: <Not set>
    • Multimedia message port: <Not set>
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: default,supl,mms
    • APN protocol: IPv6
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    • Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APNs>
    • Bearer: Unspecified
    • Mobile virtual network operator type: None
    • Mobile virtual network operator value: Not set

 

Manual network selection

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

  1. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks.
  3. Tap Network operators > Search now and wait for the list of available networks to appear.
  4. Tap the desired network to connect.

 

Switch 2G / 4G / LTE

  1. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks.
  3. Tap Network mode and choose from the following options:
    • LTE/3G (auto connect)
    • 3G only

 

Turn on / off airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows app and menu use, but prevents voice or Internet use.

 

  1. From any screen, swipe down from the top to view the notification center.
  2. Tap the Airplane icon to turn airplane mode on or off.

 

Turn on / off data roaming

  1. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks.
  3. Tap the switch next to Data roaming to turn it on or off.

 

Turn on / off mobile data

  1. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Connections > Data usage.
  3. Tap the switch next to Mobile data to turn it on or off.
