Learn how to customize text entry and default keyboard settings on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4.

 

 

 

Change default keyboard

  1. Swipe up on the main Home screen to view all apps.
  2. Tap Settings > General management > Language and input.
  3. Tap Default keyboard and choose the desired keyboard.

 

Enter symbols & numbers

  1. Access any screen where you can use the keyboard.
  2. Tap the !#1 button to view numbers and symbols.
  3. Tap the 1/2 button to view a 2nd screen of numbers and symbols.
  4. Tap the ABC button to switch back to letters.

 

Text entry mode

  1. Swipe up on the main Home screen to view all apps.
  2. Tap Settings > General management > Language and input.
  3. Tap On-screen keyboard > Samsung Keyboard > Smart Typing.
  4. Tap the change the following options:
    • Predictive text
    • Auto replace
    • Text shortcuts
    • Auto spell check
    • Auto capitalize
    • Auto spacing
    • Auto punctuation
    • Keyboard swipe controls

 

Turn on / off haptic (vibration) feedback

  1. Swipe up on the main Home screen to view all apps.
  2. Tap Settings > General management > Language and input.
  3. Tap On-screen keyboard > Samsung Keyboard > Keyboard layout and feedback.
  4. Tap Key-tap feedback and choose from the following options:
    • Sound
    • Vibration
    • Character preview
