Back up apps and contacts

To back up your application data, Wi-Fi passwords, contacts, and other settings to Google servers, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Cloud and accounts > Backup and restore.
  3. Choose how you want to backup:
    • Samsung Account
      1. Tap Back up data.
      2. Choose the items you want to back up.
      3. Tap BACK UP.
    • Google Account
      1. Tap the switch next to Back up my data to turn on.
      2. Tap the Backup account to choose which account to save to.
      3. Your information will automatically be backed up.

 

Restore apps and contacts

To restore your Google account, all you have to do is sign back into the account. To restore your Samsung account, follow these step:

 

  1. From any home screen, swipe up to view all Apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Cloud and accounts > Backup and restore.
  3. Tap Restore data.
  4. Choose the backup device to restore data from.
  5. Choose the items you want to restore.
  6. Tap RESTORE.
