Change default keyboard

Samsung keyboard

  1. Tap the Apps icon from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings, then tap General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Default keyboard.
  5. Tap a check in Samsung keyboard.

Swype keyboard

  1. Tap the Apps icon from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings, then tap General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Default keyboard.
  5. Tap ADD KEYBOARDS.
  6. On Google voice typing, move the switch to ON.

Enter symbols & numbers

Samsung or Swype keyboard - QWERTY

  • From the alphabet keyboard, tap the Sym key to enter symbols.
  • Tap the 1/2 for more symbols.
  • Tap the ABC key to return to the alphabet keyboard.
  • Tap the Smiley face to insert emoticons.

Text entry mode

Use these steps to turn predictive text on or off.

Samsung keyboard

  1. Tap the Apps icon from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings, then tap General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Scroll down to "Keyboards and input methods" and tap Samsung keyboard.
  5. Under "Smart typing," tap Predictive text.
  6. Tap the Predictive text switch to On.
  7. If desired, tap the Live word update switch to On.
  8. Select the Personalized data check box to enable these options:
    • Learn from Messages
    • Learn from Contacts
    • Clear personal data
  9. If desired tap the Privacy Policy to read it.

Swype keyboard

  1. Tap the Apps icon, from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings, then tap General management.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Scroll down to "Keyboards and input methods," and tap Google voice typing.
  5. Tap Offline speech recognition.
  6. View the installed predictive text languages (English is installed by default).

Turn on / off haptic (vibration) feedback

Samsung or Swype keyboard

  1. Tap the Apps icon from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings, then tap General management.
  3. Tap Sounds and notifications.
  4. Tap Vibrations.
  5. Move the slider on Vibration feedback to the ON or OFF position.
