If you have unwanted or unused apps that cannot be uninstalled from the Apps menu, you can hide them. Use these steps to hide or show apps on the Samsung Galaxy S7. Pre-installed apps come installed on the phone out of the box. These apps cannot be uninstalled in most cases.

Hide

Hidden apps don't show in the Apps menu or receive updates.

 

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. Tap the Apps tray from any Home screen.
  2. Tap EDIT.
  3. Apps that you can hide will have a minus sign in the top-right corner.
  4. Tap the minus sign.
  5. Tap TURN OFF to hide.

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. Tap the Apps tray from any Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Menu.
  4. Tap EDIT.
  5. Apps that you can hide will have a minus sign in the top-right corner.
  6. Tap the minus sign.
  7. Tap TURN OFF to hide.

 

Show

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. Tap the Apps tray from any Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Applications.
  4. Tap Application manager.
  5. Scroll through the list of apps that display or tap MORE and select Show system apps.
  6. If the app is hidden, "Disabled" appears in the field with the app name.
  7. Tap the desired application.
  8. Tap ENABLE to show the app.

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. Tap the Apps tray from any Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Applications.
  4. Tap Menu (3 dots) icon > Show system apps.
  5. If the app is hidden, "Disabled" appears in the field with the app name.
  6. Tap the desired application.
  7. Tap ENABLE to show the app.
