You can use safe mode to disable third-party apps if you begin experiencing issues with them. Learn how to use safe mode on the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge using the hardware keys.



Turn on and use safe mode

Safe mode allows you to turn on the device with third-party apps disabled. Then you can easily uninstall apps that may be causing a conflict or software problem.


  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Samsung Galaxy S 6 logo appears, release the Power key, then immediately press and hold the Volume down key.
  4. Hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting. When 'Safe mode' appears in the bottom left, release the Volume down key.
  5. Uninstall apps that cause problems.
    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Under "Device," tap Applications.
    4. Tap Application manager.
    5. Swipe right to the DOWNLOADED screen.
    6. Tap on the third-party app, then tap Uninstall.
    7. Tap Uninstall to confirm


Turn off safe mode

  1. Press and hold the Power key.
  2. Tap Restart. The device restarts in normal mode.
